In 2007, after learning about the incredible health benefits and unbeatable taste of unrefined sea salts, Charmane Skillen began selling gourmet sea and mineral salts at area farmers markets. S.A.L.T. not only described her product, it was a symbol of her motivation - her four beautiful daughters, Sydney, Alexis, Lauren and Taylor.

Popularity for these products grew quickly and the time came to make them available to a broader market…

s.a.l.t. sisters

In August, 2009, a new company was formed by Charmane and close friend, Brenda Troyer, to meet this demand. They have been aggressively marketing and growing s.a.l.t. sisters ever since; expanding the product line to include naturally flavored cane (c.a.n.e), vanilla infusion kits (b.e.a.n), natural herb blends (h.e.r.b) and custom seasoning rubs (r.u.b.s), establishing wholesale pricing, doing educational and tasting events, as well as participating in food (consumer and trade) shows across the US.

As a result of their first show in November, 2009, their sea salts and vanilla infusion kits were featured on “The Today Show” by Food Network celebrity chef, Giada de Laurentiis. This national exposure was a fabulous boost to gaining recognition as a premier provider of gourmet sea salts and seasonings.
