Fleur de Sel, Sel Gris and Velvet Sel Gris.

These French sea salts are certified by the prestigious Nature et Progres. Although all sea salts are natural, this certification ensures the quality of the salt. The taste remains pure because no metal instruments are used to gather and package these salts. The ponds are required to be a safe distance from roads and industry to help ensure the salts remain free of pollution. Only exceptionally clean sea waters are used.

Cyprus Black Lava Mediterranean, Cyprus Mediterranean, Murray River Pink and Pacific Blue

Flaky sea salt crystals are reminiscent of snowflakes. Evaporation takes place in an open pan and each crystal formed has a unique shape and size. The finished product is a light, flaky texture with delicate flavor and an excellent crunch. The large surface area and low bulk density improves the product adherence to food. It is ideal for salting red meat, chicken, fish, salads or even French fries. Flaky sea salt is easily crushed between fingers and works nicely for sprinkling on food or mixing with other spices. It dissolves quickly in water making it ideal for boiling pasta and is great to experiment with wherever a salt solution is needed.

Traditional or "Grinder" salts are typically large, dry crystals suitable to a salt mill or grinder. The white salt crystals are easy to grind in the mills and the lower moisture content allows the salt to flow through with little hassle. Note: Always use a salt mill with a ceramic or plastic grinding mechanism. Metal, including stainless steel, will corrode and adversely flavor the salt.
